Offline or Online Marketing Which is Better For Your Business?

by Najeda

Offline or online marketing? A question many local business owners are asking themselves. When in the current economy every new client acquisition is welcomed with open arms.

Well the quick answer is both. No I am not sitting on the fence. Marketing full stop, is the growth engine of your business. It is your way of connecting with your clients. Remember marketing has to happen before the selling can start.

I will not bore you with a marketing definition. The basics are marketing is a process where you communicate with a specific market about your products and services that fulfill the said markets wants or needs.

There in lies your answer. Marketing is all about communication. The great thing is there are many vehicles. Through a website or blog, by networking events, direct mail, referrals, speaking engagements, Trade stands to name just a few.

The trick is to carry out a number of activities and test and measure each. They don’t have to cost a fortune. It is true that more people search online than ever before and potentially more than 75% of your customer base will.

An online presence does not need to cost the earth. Nor does a simple direct mail flyer. We personally find suppliers from all routes. Ironically though we always search for them on line to find out more about them. What there company stands for, testimonials etc. It is a fact that having an online presence some how gives a company more credibility. For the consumer more confidence as well.

So what could your next steps be? Well why not pick just two online strategies and two offline. Set yourself an outcome with each and a time frame and then go for it. Review what has worked and then rinse and repeat!
