During the 1990s, blogs were virtually unheard of in some parts of the world. Now that practically everyone knows how to use the Internet, more and more people are creating blogs of their own, whether for personal or business purposes.
Because of the abundance of free blog services available on the Internet, it is now very easy to create your own account and start blogging. You can choose from some of the most popular services available, like WordPress and Blogger. The kind of service that you will choose will depend on the type of blog that you would like to have.
Alternatively you can start a blog on your own domain. As a local business owner this is a prefered option. You then own the site. The easiest way to do this is using wordpress.org and then have your blog hosted with your own host provider.
You need a provider with cpanel. It is much easier.
If you have never blogged before and just want to give it a go I highly recommend wordpress.com. To get started on blogging, all you have to do is go to the site of that service and register for an account. This will only take a couple of minutes. When you register, you are required to choose a unique username and type in some personal information. Then you will choose a template for you to work on. Top tip if you want this to be relevant for a certain key word then register this. For intance if it is ; Yorkshire Plumbing Services. You would use that as your username. So you would end up with a site with a name like. www.yorkshireplumber.wordpress.com.
Now WordPress and Blogger have some great-looking templates that you can already use, but you can also import templates from other sources. But if you are still a beginner, it is best to stick to the provided templates for the meantime.
Perhaps the most important thing to consider when it comes to blogging is the topic which you would like to focus on. Aside from being a personal diary, you can simply focus on one topic that you are passionate about and go from there.
Or as a local business owner a topic that you want to be known for hence our plumbing example. They look good as well.
